Art Explorers

Art Explorers | Term 3 | All About Me
from $350.00

Art Explorers is a weekly after-school art class for curious kids aged 7 and up. Each term we follow a theme together — this term is All About Me — exploring the world around us through drawing, painting, 3D sculpture elements and mixed media.

Classes are hands-on, inclusive, engaging and focused on the making, the experimenting, the individual process. Each session introduces a new technique, artist or idea, building skills and confidence week by week.

Two sessions are run back to back straight after school, and can be booked as a double. Students staying for both sessions bring a snack and enjoy a short reset break between classes — perfect for kids who want to dive a little deeper into the day's making.

Classes are held at Boolaroo Public School Hall, 3pm session best suit students attending this school to join straight from class.

Some things to expect

Process-led art making, not step-by-step copying

Children are encouraged to explore materials, ideas and techniques in their own way - we love unique individual works of creativity here, no one work will be the same. Each artwork is uniquly theirs, inspired by the focus of the day.

Creativity grows through experimentation

There’s no “wrong” in art making here. Children are supported to take creative risks, try ideas, solve problems and trust their creative instincts. Building students confidence in their own art making decisions and process.

Inspired by real artists and the natural world

This Term length block students will expore things they love - favorite foods, animals, self portraits and more through a range of processes inspired by many artists and techniques used in Pop Art, Surrealism, Still-Life Drawing and Mobile/Wall Art.

Celebration Party Week

Our final week of term will always be a party session - this term we turn an animal of choice into a party animal with air-dry clay, recycled materials and paint pens. Creating a playful sculptural work amongst party fun with a few snacks.
